Chelsea Premier League top goal-scorers in the last six seasons

Kai Havertz remains Chelsea Premier League top goal-scorers in the Premier League this campaign.

The German youngster has obviously turned a new leaf under Graham Potter, having scored in three consecutive matches for the Blues.

Of course, the West London club always have problems with central forwards. Because they don’t build their frontline around them.

They signed Romelu Lukaku on a record breaking fee from Inter Milan. However, everything went haywire for the Belgian, flopped at the club.

Even though Chelsea are one of the best teams in Europe’s top-5 leagues, particularly in the Premier League.

They don’t score many goals in a match, unlike the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, and others.

Unfortunately, the West London club haven’t scored more than 3 goals in a game since Graham Potter arrived at Stamford Bridge.

Funny enough, they have been able to score 29 goals in the Premier League in 2022-2023, conceding 28 goals.

Apparently, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are building something amazing, wanting to take the club to the next level.

They have been linked with central forwards like Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Gonçalo Ramos of Benfica, and Ivan Toney of Brentford.

The West London club’s goal scoring statistics are very poor in the Premier League. They are expected to do better next campaign.

It’s uncertain if Graham Potter will continue at Chelsea next season. Regardless, the club will definitely sign a new striker to score goals.

  • Kai Havertz – 7
  • Raheem Sterling – 4
  • Mason Mount – 3

In all fairness, the Blues’ statistics in the league this campaign are way awful. They would have to do better so as to go far in the next campaign.

Premier League top goal-scorers this season

  • Erling Haaland – 28
  • Harry Kane – 21
  • Ivan Toney – 16
  • Marcus Rashford – 14
  • Gabriel Martinelli – 13
  • Bukayo Saka – 12
  • Aleksandar Mitrovic – 11

Frankly, the Manchester City striker has single-handedly scored more league goals than Chelsea this campaign.

Interestingly, Arsenal Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have now netted more goals than the Blues’ false No.9.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have many things to do next season, and bringing a standard striker to the club is one of them.

It’s said that there’s a particular curse attached to the No.9 shirt at Chelsea, as evidenced by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s stats in 2022-2023.

As a result of the supposed curse, no striker at the club has been able to score more than 20 goals in the Premier League since Diego Costa.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already failed at the West London club, most likely going to join Barcelona next campaign.

Romelu Lukaku fell out of favor at Chelsea, particularly with the fans. He flopped woefully, as he joined Inter Milan on loan.

Reportedly, the Belgian goal-machine is most likely to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

However, the club aren’t planning to keep him, with Atletico Madrid wanting to sign him. No striker succeeds at Chelsea.

Diego Costa – 20 goals

Without being sentimental, the Spaniard is the best central forward the Blues have had in the past after Didier Drogba.

Even though he later fell out of favor with Antonio Conte. He was still the most complete striker for Chelsea, talking of their previous six seasons.

In 2016-2017, Diego Costa netted 20 Premier League goals for the West London club, his best year at the club.

Unfortunately, none of the Blues players have been able to score close to or more than twenty goals for the club in the league.

Eden Hazard – 12 goals

The Belgian wizard is always a legend for the West London club, even though he’s going through a tough time at Real Madrid.

Of course, the player isn’t a striker, however, he was one of the best attackers to ever play at Chelsea.

Eden Hazard scored 12 goals in the Premier League in 2017-2018. Despite his dribbling prowess and technicality.

It’s believed that the Belgian international will still flourish in the English league, if he returns to Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard – 16 goals

The Real Madrid player was literally the only player to top the club’s goal-scorer chart consecutively in the Premier League.

Despite his flawless display in the league in 2017-2018. The Belgian wizard also shone in the second season.

Hazard registered 16 EPL goals in the 2018-2019 campaign. Chelsea struggled massively in his absence, and they are still struggling.

Obviously, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have a lot of work to do at the club next season, particularly their frontline.

Tammy Abraham – 15 goals

Reportedly, the West London club is now linked to the Englishman, wanting to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

The José Mourinho’s man was at his best under Frank Lampard, scored 15 goals in the Premier League in 2019-2020.

However, he wasn’t in Thomas Tuchel’s plan when the German manager arrived at the club. And he left for Roma in Serie A.

Potential-wise, Tammy Abraham has many things in common with Victor Osimhen. He can still establish himself at Chelsea.

Jorginho – 7 goals

Interestingly, the Blues’ defensive midfielder was their top EPL goal-scorer in the last two seasons.

Meanwhile, Jorginho was able to score the seven goals as a result of penalties. He was the club’s penalty taker before joining Arsenal.

Nevertheless, the West London club’s new owners are hell-bent on improving the team’s performance.

Therefore, the Blues may make headlines in the Premier League next season. But their previous statistics are bad.

Mason Mount – 11 goals

The club’s academy product was at his best last campaign, even though he’s currently going through a lot at the club.

The Englishman won the Chelsea Player of the Season award in 2021-2022, showing how much he helped the team’s display in all competitions.

Mason Mount netted 11 goals for the Blues in the Premier League last campaign, and he’s not a striker.

Unfortunately, he may leave for Liverpool or Manchester United next summer, because of his contract issues.
