Bayern Munich are set to sack Julian Nagelsmann after their 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen. Surprisingly, Thomas Tuchel is expected to replace him, with full agreement in place.

According to multiple reports, the former Chelsea boss will sign a two-and-a-half year contract with the Bavarians.

The deal has been agreed upon already, and the documents are most likely to be signed on Friday.

Frankly, Julian Nagelsmann doesn’t really deserve what’s happening to him at the moment. He has made many headlines since he arrived at Allianz Arena.

Even though Tuchel seems like a massive upgrade of Nagelsmann. The 35-year-old gaffer deserves better with the Bavarians.

Reportedly, both the managers and the players are surprised by the news. However, everything is expected to be announced on Friday.

Even though Julian Nagelsmann hasn’t received any direct communication from Bayern Munich.

He’s confirmed that everything has been discussed internally. As a result, he will definitely bounce on Friday.

Joao Cancelo on the issue:
“I have only found out now, I know I won’t find Nagelsmann when I return to Munich. He wanted me to Bayern, I would like to thank him”

“As for Tuchel, he made me lose a Champions League final, so I hope he will win it for me this year!”.

Why Thomas Tuchel?

Reportedly, Bayern Munich are afraid the German manager may be gone from the market at the end of the campaign.

Of course, the likes of Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain are most likely to sign him.

As a result, the Bavarians decided to act fast by sacking Julian Nagelsmann, and replacing him with Tuchel.

There’s just one point between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in their league table.

With Thomas, the Bavarians believe they can still win the Bundesliga title as regards the 2022-2023 season.

Also, they target the UEFA Champions League trophy, because the coach is one of the best in European competitions.

Even though Nagelsmann defeated Paris Saint-Germain back-to-back in the competition’s round of 16.

The club believes that he doesn’t have what it takes to win over Manchester City in the quarter-finals, followed by 2-1 loss to Leverkusen.

With all that being said, they signed Tuchel as a result of his statistics in Europe’s top-5 leagues.

According to several reports, Bayern Munich wanted to sign the German coach in 2018, but PSG were too fast to get him.

Also, they have been waiting for him since last September, and they held talks. The Bavarians weren’t satisfied with Julian.

Having seen what the German boss did in his first season at Chelsea, even though he joined them in the middle of the campaign.

He has the ability to get the Bavarians back to the top spot in the league, and get rid of the Premier League side in the UCL.

If Thomas joins the German side, which he will before the end of the international break. He will face his former side, Dortmund, in his first game in charge.

Would Thomas Tuchel succeed at Bayern Munich?

Performance-wise, the former Chelsea manager will definitely succeed at Allianz Arena. He has whatever it takes to restore the club’s lost glory.

With Tuchel at Bayern Munich, it’s fair enough to say that the Bavarians are one of the favorites to win the UEFA Champions League.

Unlike other managers, Thomas is a practical coach, who gets straight to work and start to win from day one. No process for adapting or whatsoever.

Squad-wise, he has enough reinforcements to bully any team in Europe’s top-5 leagues, particularly in the UEFA Champions League.

Speaking of his 5-at-the-back formation, there are many players who understand the setup better at Bayern Munich.

Playing Alphonso Davies and João Cancelo as his wing-backs will be his cheat code at Allianz Arena.

Also, he has the likes of the Sadio Mané, Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané, who can comfortably play as wide attackers.

On the contrary, Thomas is kind of a we-want-to-win now manager, he’s never a long term solution to any football club.

Therefore, he’s most unlikely to stay along at Bayern Munich. Regardless, he’s definitely a perfect replacement for the Bavarians.

Also, Bayern Munich’s setup is beginning to suffocate managers. They don’t allow coaches to take total control, they always want to intervene.

With what happened at Chelsea between Todd Boehly and Tuchel, that kind of setup won’t sit well with the German boss at the club.

That’s another reason why he’s most unlikely to stay long with the Bavarians. Tuchel may find it difficult blending with Hasan Salihamidžić and Kahn.

However, he’s a practical manager and would definitely get results for the Bavarians in all competitions.

The German gaffer doesn’t accept too much intervention from the board, he always wants to do his thing and get results.

Thomas Tuchel

Obviously, Bayern Munich signed the manager because of the UEFA Champions League, since they will be facing Manchester City.

The former Chelsea boss knows how to get past Pep Guardiola, it happened in the Premier League and the 2021 UCL final.

The Bavarians new gaffer is expected to do everything to eliminate the Citizens from the competition in April.

They signed him because of his instant results, both in the UEFA Champions League and the Bundesliga.

What does Thomas Tuchel Bayern Munich mean for Chelsea?

The German manager at Allianz Arena doesn’t look good for the West London club, which is very obvious.

Because if Chelsea gets past Real Madrid in the UCL quarter-finals. They will face either Bayern Munich or Manchester City.

If they have to face the Bavarians in the semi-finals, it’s going to be Tuchel vs Graham Potter.

Profile-wise, the Blues gaffer doesn’t have the ability to defeat Bayern Munich. That doesn’t look nice for the Premier League side.

Some Chelsea’s fans and players are still in love with Thomas. The likes of Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly, and others were signed by him.

It’s going to be an emotional 90 minutes between Chelsea and Bayern Munich, if they really face each other in the semi-finals.

Of course, Graham Potter has 100% win record in the UEFA Champions League, since he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

As a result, it’s been said that he’s most likely to win the European trophy for the West London club this campaign.

Getting past Real Madrid in the quarterfinals may sound easy, because the Los Blancos have been poor this season.

However, Tuchel won’t make it easy for them with his 5-at-the-back formation, making Davies and Cancelo his dangerous weapons.

Julian Nagelsmann has zero defeats in the competition this campaign. So, Thomas would definitely want to extend the unbeaten record.

As a result, he won’t go easy on both Chelsea and Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League in April.
